Needs a building should satisfy

A good building should be a combination of art, imagination, beauty and functionality. By functionality I mean that it has to be able to satisfy a series of needs and characteristics imposed by the society, the surroundings and, of course, the client. Basically, primary needs in a building are defined by the needs of every specific client, the structural needs of the building and the needs that come as a consecuence of the context. A very important detail to consider is the fact that needs are not always the same, they will change depending on the client and time, so an architect has to be flexible in order to adapt to this fact.

When it comes to the client, the building has to be built to satisfy characteristics such as light, low noise, good ventilation and general details that involve the requirements of the human body. Also the building must be a safe place, not only for the things kept inside it, but also for the people who inhabit the building. In terms of space and it's visual look, the edification should be an expression of every client and it should be fit to allow interaction with other people.

Also, the building itself needs to be spacious, comfortable and adecuate to permit good movement of the people and materials that will be going in and out of the building. It is also important that the building is very sound. Regarding the surroundings, the building has to take in consideration it's context since every new structure is a continuation of a society that already exists.
